Judith L. Hince

Judith Lorraine (Lusher) Hince, age 81, passed away on July 4, 2019 due to complications from a stroke with her family and friends by her side.  She was born on November 16, 1937 in Deer Creek, Wisconsin to Lester and Lorraine (Brunner) Lusher. She married James Hince on May 24,1958.

 

Judy was a daughter, sister, wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She loved cooking, sewing, quilting, fishing, traveling, reading, basket weaving, crafting/needlework, playing cards, and gardening.

 

Her working career took her in many directions.  She was a key-punch operator for the Wisconsin Cheese Guild in Milwaukee, and then did office work for Peter Schwabe construction in Milwaukee.  After moving to Medford, Wisconsin Judy drove school bus, made pizzas at Tombstone Pizza.  She also worked in the office at Weather Shield and Hurd Millwork and retired in November 2007.

 

She was also involved in various volunteer activities.  She was very active in her church Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey, the Medford Performing Arts, Home Hospice Care, a hospital/nursing home volunteer. Judy was the driving force behind everything that has been donated from the Medford area to The Hands Foundation. For nearly 10 years quilts and backpacks have been made for homeless veterans. 

 

Judy is survived by her sister Kathleen Lyon (California), her daughter Beth (Richard) Karweick of Kentucky, her son Michael (Lisa Leu) Hince of Medford, WI, daughter-in-law Donna Hince of Florida, and grandchildren:  Lauren Perry, Sara (Kyle Thompson) Hince, Christopher Karweick, and Emily Karweick.

 

 Judy was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters who died in infancy, her husband James in October 2008, son Scott in February 2019 and her beloved dog Chuck.

 

Visitation for Judy will be held on Friday, August 23 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Whittlesey from 5pm-8pm.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24 at 11am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with interment immediately following at Our Lady of Perpetual Help cemetery.
