Kenneth Ingersoll Jr., age 87 of Colby, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Oakbook Health and Rehabilitation in Thorp.
A celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 27 ,2019 at VFW, Colby from 12pm-4pm following interment at Abbotsford Public Cemetery at 11 a.m.
Kenneth was born on May 14, 1932, the son of Kenneth and Edith (Dumbrowe) Ingersoll, Sr. He graduated from Abbotsford High School. Ken was united in marriage to Dixie Faye Sossaman on September 18, 1964.
Ken worked many different jobs including: Spencer Grocery Store, Clover Farm Store, Felkers Filing Station, O & N Lumber Co., Soo Line Railroad, H.K. Christensen Filling Station, American Box Bd., Spencer Sports Products, Edison Homes, Pathfinder Homes, Wick building Systems, Colby & Unity Schools. After his retirement, he worked part time for Lamont’s Station, Orville Soyk, and Abbotsford Nursing home. Ken also served in the National Guards for 9 years.
Ken especially loved mowing his lawn and helping his family. He was very grateful to Kelly, Jodi, Brandon & Kaleb for all their help.
Ken is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dixie; Children: Kelly ( Sandra) Ingersoll, Jodi ( Daniel) Kagel of Colby, Darci ( Shawn) McDonald, of Owen, a step-son, Tracy ( Norma) Sossaman of Dorchester; Grandchildren: Brandon, Kaleb, C.J., Robin. Step grandchildren Kate, Rachel, John. Step great grandchildren LeAnna & Brantley. He is further survived by his Brother, Marvin Ingersoll of Adams Friendship; Sister in Laws, Kathryn Ingersoll and Wilma Sossaman of Abbotsford, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. .
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers and sisters: Gladys, Donald, Arlene, Jeanette, Robert, Harold and Neal.
