Virginia Marie “Ginger” Hendricks, age 53, of Gilman,
passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at St.
Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, WI.
Virginia was born September 16, 1960 in Ladysmith the
daughter of Edward and Dora Mae (Morris) Hendricks. She
grew up in the area and graduated from Gilman High in 1979.
She continued her education at UW-Superior until she
became legally blind due to type I diabetes.
Being blind didn’t stop Ginger from being outgoing and
she learned brail, had a Leader Dog and recorded
gospel music. She enjoyed singing, knitting, crocheting
and being with her family and all children.
Virginia is survived by her mother, Dora Mae Hendricks
of Gilman, two brothers, George “Butch” (Patty)
Hendricks of Phillips and Dale (Laura) Hendricks of
Gilman, one sister, Donna (Ron) Severson of Hawkins, 9
nieces and nephews and 11 great nieces and nephews.
Ginger is preceded in death by her father, Edward and
one nephew and one niece, Timothy and Ronda
Severson.
Services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 at
11:30 AM at the Gilman Funeral Home. Burial will be
later that day in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Hawkins.
Visitation is one hour prior on Friday at the funeral
home.
