Carl F. Howard Sr. age 80 of Medford, died peacefully Friday morning September 12, 2014 at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford, surrounded by his family and under the tender care of Aseracare Hospice.
Carl was born March 3, 1934 in Charlotte, North Carolina the son Simon and Sarah (Overcash) Howard. He attended schools in Charlotte, NC and graduated from high school there. After high school Carl enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged in April 1963.
Carl married the former Catherine Cronick on September 5, 1962 and she passed away on January 3, 1973.
On April 4, 1987 in Capron, IL, Carl was united in marriage to Henrietta Wiedrich.
Carl worked for the Chrysler Corporation as an auto assembler in Belvidere, IL for over 31years.
Carl is lovingly survived by his wife; Henrietta Pester-Howard of Medford, son; Carl (Margaret) Howard Jr. of Machesney Park, IL, grandson; Nicholas Scott Howard of Machesney Park, IL, stepchildren; Christine Pester, Robert Pester Jr., Harold Pester, Tammy Pester-Peterson, Esther Truckey and Timothy Pester.
22 step-grandchildren, 26 step-great-grandchildren and numerous surviving nieces, nephews and relatives in North Carolina. Carl was also a proud and longtime friend of Bill W.
He was preceded in death by his first wife; Catherine, step-daughter; Linda Hoyt, brothers; Edison Howard Sr., Charles Howard and Scott Howard and sisters; Juanita Howard-Helms, Lillian Howard and Frances Howard-Shumate.
Please join the family at one of the memorial services being held. The Wisconsin Celebration of Life will be held at the Harold and Kathy Pester home, W2586 Highway 64 Medford, WI on Sunday September 21 from Noon to 5:00 PM. The Illinois Celebration of Life will be held at the Garden Prairie Park, U.S. Route 20 Garden Prairie, IL Sunday October 5 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
