Gertrude H. (Stock) Buss, age 98, of Owen, passed away peacefully at the Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center on Friday, September 11, 2015. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Christ in Owen. Pastor Asafa Rajaofera will officiate. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery in the Town of Mayville. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 AM until time of service on Thursday at the church.
Gertrude was born on March 14, 1917, the daughter of Hugo and Viola (Dehne) Stock in Little Black Township, Taylor County. She was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Faith in Newton in 1931. Her family moved to Clark County and she graduated from Colby High School in 1935. Gertrude was united in marriage to Henry Buss on June 15, 1940 in Decorah, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 24, 1997. Together they farmed in Green Grove Township. She was a member of Curtiss Reformed Church and later Owen United Church of Christ and its Women's Fellowship.
Gertrude is survived by her three sons, Albert Buss of Owen, Myron (Ruth) Buss of Curtiss and Delhart Buss of Park Falls; three grandchildren, Lynn (Nicole) Shattuck, Michael (Shelly) Buss and Michelle (Ryan) Cook; seven great-grandchildren: Holly, Britney, Morgan, Kiefer, Henry, Dharma and Eli. She is further survived by her sister Violet Engel of Withee; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry; her great-granddaughter, McKenzie Buss and two sisters: Lorraine Janda and Edna Rueden.
