Reverend Robert Louis Everhard of Abbotsford, age 90, was called home into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018.

  Robert was born on November 25th, 1927 to Louis and Cora (Eimerman) in Milwaukee.  In 1945, he graduated from Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee.  He was then drafted into the Army and was a veteran of WWII.  After serving in the Army, Robert entered a management program at JC Penney for a short time before attending and graduating from Carroll College, Waukesha, in 1954.  Bob was a church youth director during his college years which led him to the ministry.  He graduated from the Presbyterian Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa in 1957.  He served as a student pastor in Hebron, Illinois while in seminary.

  Bob married Lori Carle in 1957 at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Milwaukee and was also ordained there.  Reverend Everhard served his first church, the First Presbyterian Church in Lodi for 7 years with his dedicated and loving wife by his side.  Bob and Lori started their family in Lodi and had 3 children.  Reverend Everhard then moved to the Berkeley Hillside Presbyterian Church in Hillside, Illinois for 13 years.  His final full time pastoral calling was to First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford where he ministered for 15 years.  Following his retirement, Reverend Everhard served as part time pastor in Lakewood, Wabeno, Laona, Dorchester, Owen and Medford until the age of 80.  In 2007, he was awarded the honorary title of Pastor Emeritus, which recognized his long time relationship with the Abbotsford community.  He was a devoted servant of God having served 50 years in the ministry.

  Reverend Robert L. Everhard touched many lives during his ministry.  His optimistic outlook on life and unique perspective on things gave him the ability to relate to people of all ages.  Bob's great sense of humor and gentle loving nature made him loved by many.  He ejoyed life and making peolpe laugh.  He will long be remembered for his beautiful smile and hearty laugh.  He always joked, "The best preachers have short sermons and long offerings."

  Bob enjoyed a variety of hobbies which included ping pong, pool, bowling, horseshoes, hunting and flying model airplanes.  Spending time with friends and family is what he valued most.

  Bob is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Lori, and his children, Darlene (Stephen) La Fave, Dexter Everhard and Donald (Gloria) Everhard.  His grandchildren: Julie Rose La Fave (Lucas Sook), Michael La Fave, Penny Lou (Keith) Gattis, Robert Louis Everhard II, Carolyn Everhard (Logan Wright) and Dalton Everhard.  His great grandchildren include McKenzie Rose Gattis and Joseph DeLaney Gattis.

  Bob is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Vernell (John) Fishleigh.

  Interment is at Abbotsford City Cemetery, Abbotsford, Wisconsin.

  Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, July 14th, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Abbotsford.   Visitation will be at 10:00 A.M. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 A.M.  A Veteran Memorial Tribute will be held at the Abbotsford City Cemetery at 12:30 P.M.  There will be a lunch & time of fellowship following the Veteran Memorial Tribute at First Presbyterain Church.

  Charlotte Louise Buchanan Andreasen, 90, long time resident of Withee, Wisconsin, but currently of Appleton, Wisconsin passed away on Monday, July 9.

  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 19th at Nazareth Lutheran Church in Withee.      Visitation will be begin at 1:00 p.m. with the service at 2:00 p.m.  Burial will be at the Nazareth cemetery. 

  Charlotte was born on May 12, 1928, in rural Curtiss, to Glenn and Doris (Clifton) Buchanan.  The eldest of three children, she grew up on dairy farms near Curtiss and Withee.  She attended Frenchtown School, and belonged to the Methodist Church in Withee.

  After graduating from Withee High School in 1946, she began a two-year rural education program at Eau Claire State Teachers College.  When she completed the program in 1948, she was the envy of her classmates, because she had already been offered a teaching job with a salary of $225 per month, the highest salary of anyone in her class.  Charlotte taught grades 1-8 in rural schools for seven years, including White School, Elmwood School, Eaton Center School, and Frenchtown School.

  Charlotte and Norman Andreasen were united in marriage on June 12, 1949 at the Methodist Church in Withee.  A few years after they married, he surprised her by deciding to become a farmer.  They purchased a dairy farm in Hixon Township, where they farmed until 1980, raising four children.        Charlotte was an active member of Nazareth Lutheran Church, teaching in Vacation Bible School, singing in the choir, and participating in the church women’s organization.

  Charlotte and Norman enjoyed traveling, especially in their later years.  They spent several winters in Apache Junction, Arizona, and took the time to see not only the sights of Arizona, but also other locations along the routes that they traveled both to and from that location.  They also took trips to visit their children in Colorado, North Dakota, and Texas.  Charlotte appreciated the fact that one of their children spent time living in the northeastern part of the United States, so that one of the couple’s trips would be to that part of the country.  She celebrated her 80th birthday with a cruise to destinations in New England and northeastern Canada.

  Charlotte was devoted to her family, and especially enjoyed being a grandparent.  She is survived by four children:  Rodney Andreasen of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; Bethany Andreasen of Minot, North Dakota; Bradley Andreasen of Colorado, and Cara (Gary) Brzezinski of Oneida, Wisconsin; four grandchildren:  Tyra (Gregory) Wennesheimer of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Krista (Christopher) Kuba of Green Bay, Wisconsin; Nathan Stock Andreasen; and Joshua Andreasen; three great-grandchildren:  Aubrey and Charlotte Kuba of Green Bay, Wisconsin; and Ella Stock Andreasen; and two brothers:  Leonard Buchanan of Thorp, Wisconsin; and James Buchanan of Cadott, Wisconsin. 

  She was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband, Norman.

She loved to process venison for all her family and friends. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking and baking. She was a hunter’s safety instructor for over 25 years.

  Estelle L. Bohte, 98, of the Town of Greenwood, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 under hospice care at Rennes Health Center in Weston, surrounded by her family.

  Estelle was born on May 17, 1920, to the late Jacob and Christine Schaff in the town of Stetsonville. She graduated from Medford High School on 1937, followed by a teaching certificate in 1939 from Medford Normal School. She began her teaching career in one room country schools in the rural Medford area.

  On July 31, 1943 she married Edward A. Bohte and moved to the Bohte Family Farm in the Town of Greenwood, where she resided the past 75 years.

  In 1955 Estelle resumed her teaching career in the kindergarten classrooms of Rib Lake, Westboro, and Greenwood schools. She also continued working towards her college Bachelor’s Degree, which she received in 1963 from UW-Stevens Point.

  Estelle was passionate about farming, keeping up on current events, liked to play cards, and enjoyed all her friends and neighbors.

  Estelle is survived by her children, Anna (Kevin) Taylor of Henderson, NV, Beverly VanderKoy of Kronenwetter, Edward (Candy) Bohte of Merrill, and John (Beverly) Bohte of Wausau; 9 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Dorothy Wiegel, and many nieces and nephews in 3 generations.

  In addition to her husband and parents, Estelle is preceded in death by one grandson, Scott VanderKoy; brothers, Aloysius “Red” and Nicholas Schaff; sisters, Jeannette Nelson, and twins Marie Wilson and Margaret Schaff.

  A Funeral Mass for Estelle will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Rib Lake, with Father Otto Bucher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Ann’s Cemetery. Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Hemer Funeral Home – Medford Chapel from 4:00 PM until the time of a prayer service at 7:00 PM.   James F. Miller, 65 of Thorp, formerly of Jump River died on

Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center. He
was born on February 2, 1953 in Stanley to the late James
and Rita (Couillard) Miller. He grew up in Jump River and
graduated from Gilman High in 1971. On July 29, 1972 he was
united in marriage to Karen Hodowanic at Saints Peter and
Paul Catholic Church-Gilman. The couple moved to Jump
River and farmed there for 43 years on the family farm. The
couple sold the farm in 2016 and retired to Thorp. In
“retirement” Jim worked for Wayne Raether, Bob’s Corner
Garage and Hank’s Furniture.
Jim was an active volunteer his whole life. He was in the Jump
River Fire Dept for 40 years; 12 as Assistant Chief and 18
years as Fire Chief, a member of the Lions Club, a Community
Center Board Member, was town Chairman for Jump River, a
member the Gilman School Board and a board member for
ASCS. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, bowling and playing
softball. Jim also loved to watch the Packers, Brewers and
Badgers. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed his time
spent with them.
  He is survived by his wife, Karen of Thorp, 3 children, Andrea
(Brent) Trott of Sheldon, Tricia (Gary) Thompson of
Henderson, NV and Kimberly (Willie) Anderson of Gilman, 3
grandchildren, Brock and Jaden Trott and Kali Anderson, his
siblings, Patty (Mike Schmitz) Miller of Carlton, MN, Paul
(Diane) Miller, Bill (Antoinette) Miller, Chris (Kathy) Miller and
Ruth (Jim) Shaw all of Sheldon, a sister in law, Debbie Miller of
Medford and many nieces and nephews. Jim is preceded in
death by his parents, brothers, Russell and Bob and his sister
Judy.

  James A. “Shorty” Berger, 84, of Medford, passed away Monday March 12, 2018 at his home.

  James was born October 26, 1933 to August and Mathilda (Zimmerman) Berger in Medford. He is a 1951 graduate of Medford Sr. High School.

  After high school James enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as a Supply Handler. He was honorably discharged in 1955. He returned to Wisconsin and worked at AMC Plant in Janesville, GM Motors in Milwaukee, and then Weather Shield Window Company in Medford, where he retired from.

  He loved to attend auto auctions, gun shows, traveling and tinkering with cars and motors.

  James is survived by a sister Estelle Oldeberg, and many other nieces, nephews and family members.

  Per James request, cremation rites have been accorded and a graveside service with military rites will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at 1:30 P.M. Saturday, July, 28, 2018. A meal will follow at Holy Rosary Social Center.

  Caroline L. Nicpon, age 82, formerly of Lublin, and Barron WI passed into eternal life on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center in Owen.  She was born on July 29, 1935 to Carl and Susie (Lambert) Jasmer at home in rural Verndale, MN the eighth of nine children.  At the age of three,  moved with her family to Maplehurst Township, Taylor County where they homesteaded a small dairy farm. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior as a young woman, which provided the foundation for her life.

  On November 5, 1955, she married Joseph Nicpon at St. Stanislaus Church in Lublin.  Together they had 10 children.  They divorced in 1972.  He preceded her in death on March 26th, 1997.

  In 1972, Caroline moved to Barron where she raised her family, returning to Lublin in 1989, where she lived until moving in with her daughter, Pauline in 2012.  Caroline later lived at Monroe Manor in Barron and most recently at CCRLC.

  Caroline is survived by her 10 children: Irene (Bob) King of Frederic, Raymond, and David of Cameron, Leonard (Tonia), Pauline (Wendell) Kringle, JoAnn (Dan) Netz all of Barron, Dan (Lori Dahle) of Brill, RuthAnna Lawrence of Cumberland, Karen Weatherford (Mark Potaczek) of Medford and Joseph (Jennifer Quinter) of Owen; 28 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.  She is further survived by two sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Vernon) Jasmer and Marcella (Dale) Jasmer; two brothers-in-law, Al Anderson and Orville Sherwood; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 infant grandchildren, and eight siblings: Vernon, Dale, Doris (Lawrence) Cardinal, Alvera Anderson, Evelyn (Frank) Wall, Lorn (Helen), Milo and Marie Sherwood.

  Arden F. Krueger, age 82, of Owen, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, July 22, 2018 at his residence.

  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church in the Town of Holway at 12:00 p.m.  The Rev. Amy Heinz will officiate.   Arden was born on April 8, 1936, the son of Albert and Elsie (Olsen) Krueger in Medford.  He graduated from Medford High School in 1954.  Arden was united in marriage to Anna Pavelich in 1956.  They later divorced.  She preceded him in death on June 14, 2010. 

  Arden worked as a logger and drove a semi.  He was an animal lover and loved his pets. Arden also played accordion and guitar.  He especially cherished his family.

  Arden is lovingly survived by his five children: Linda (Lyle) Cardinal of Branson, MO; Elsie (Darryl) Hommerich of Owen; Butch of Holway, Bernie (Kecia) Krueger of Stratford and Cal (Jodi) Krueger of Iola; five step-daughters; several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.      He is further survived by his brother, Benny of Medford; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife; his brothers, Eldred, Louie and Doug and his sisters, Marge and Ruth.

  Alfred W. Meier, aka “Gramps” or “Big Al” of Dorchester, Wisconsin, was born on July 28, 1927, he passed away peacefully at the age 90 on July 19, 2018 in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin surrounded by his three favorite girls; his wife, daughter, and granddaughter.

  Al served in the Navy from 1944 to 1948 in World War II and also was a truck driver by trade, getting to explore almost every state of this beautiful country from the front seat of a semi-truck. He was a very proud veteran and preferred his products to be “Made in America.” Al was thrilled to take the “Trip of a Lifetime” with the Honor Flight who flew him to DC to visit the World War II memorial in 2014.

  Some of Al’s hobbies included being a lifetime member of the American Legion, AMVETS, Moose Club and a member of Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester. He enjoyed listening to polka music on Sunday mornings and watching westerns on TV. Al was the beloved husband of Norma; they were married for 46 years.

  He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Kozak, son-in-law, Joseph Kozak, granddaughter, Dani Kozak, and sister, Beverly Thomsen, along with many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lola, Dorothy and Ruth.

  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 12:00 pm at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester. Reverend Doris Ruben will officiate. Inurnment will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery following the service. Full military rites will be conducted by the Dorchester American Legion Post 517. Family and friends are welcome for the visitation on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of services at the church.

  Ruth M. Gaunt, 76, of Wausau, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 31, 2018, under the care of her family with assistance from Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday Aug. 4 at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford Chapel with Pastor David Clements officiating. Burial will follow in the Perkinstown Cemetery.   Ruth was born on Sept. 9, 1941 in Patterson, N.J. to the late Lester and Marian Kusant.
  Ruth worked as a registered x-ray technician. In 1987, she started Ruth’s Cleaning Service, which specialized in cleaning residential homes and commercial businesses. She enjoyed puzzles, gardening, reading, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, drinking Alabama slammers and being the owner of potentially the world’s largest Christmas village! She also collected antiques, especially Bessie Pease Baby Art.
  Ruth is survived by her children, Lester (Julie) Gaunt of Pardeeville, Jodi (Joe) Spangberg and Brian Gaunt, all of Wausau, Barbara (Kevin Krueger) of Washington Island; grandchildren, James (Trina) Gaunt, Amber (Tony) Navone, Justin (Stephanie) Gaunt, Zachary and Isaac (Laura) Comfort and Ellie, Bennett and Mason Isaacson; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Olivia, Dominic, Donovan, Viola and one on the way; and brother, Thomas (Merry) Kusant of Bemidji, Minn.
  In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by an infant son, Bruce Wayne; and sister, Barbara (John) Zester Jr.

  Virgene M. Kenner, 63 of Jump River, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018

at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. She was born on November 16,
1954 to the late Neil and Lucille (Latz) Herrick. Virgene grew up in the
Jump River area and graduated from Gilman High in 1972. She married
Rex Kenner on July 8, 1972 at St. John’s Catholic Church-Sheldon.
  Virgene worked for the Gilman IGA, EJ Dairy for 17 years and was a
homemaker. She was a member of the Jump River ATV club. She was an
author, loved to write books, picking berries and making jam, doing crafts,
such as memorial stones, bear paws etc. Also enjoyed spending time with
her grandchildren.

  She is survived by her husband, Rex Kenner of Jump River, 3 children,
Jennie Kleinhans and Ryan Kenner both of Phillips and Tari Kenner of
Jump River, 6 grandchildren, Dylan, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Bryonna, Alivia and
Sawyer, her siblings, Leon (Cleo) Herrick of Menomonie, Daryl (Wendy)
Herrick of Cedarburg, WI, Todd Herrick of Aurora, IL and Pam (Chuck)
Goebel of Lugerville, a sister in law, Linda Herrick of TX and many nieces,
nephews, aunts, uncles, special cousins and dear friends. Virgene is
preceded in death by her parents, her son, Craig Allen Kenner, brothers,
Michael John and Lonnie Dee Herrick, her maternal grandparents,
Charles and Eva Latz and paternal grandparents, Thomas and Jennie

the Jump River Community Center with Father Lourdu Raju officiating.

  Dale William Wood, age 60, passedaway Tuesday, July 24, 2018. 

He was born December 31,1957, at home in Donald, Wis., the son

of Daniel and Marcella (Morel) Wood.

  He attended school at Donald Elementary School through 6th
grade, then attended Hannibal Junior High for 7th and 8th grade,

then attended high school in Gillman. He graduated from Gillman High

School. 

  He farmed with his brother, Kurt, at the farm in Donald.  Due
to health issues, he retired from farming in 2010.  He really loved his

dogs that he had over the years.
  Dale is survived by siblings, Linda Izdepski of Conrath, Diane
(Darrel) Gago of Tony, Allen (Karen) Wood of Curtiss, Debbie
(Jay) Sands of Ojibwa, Pat (Nora) Wood of Eau Claire, and
Kurt Wood of Gilman; and 8 nephews, 11 nieces, 10
great-nephews, 12 great-nieces, and many cousins. He was
preceded in death by his father, Daniel, his mother, Marcella;
siblings, Ronald and Gregory; brother-in-law Tom Izdepski;
and great-niece Cassidy.

  A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, August 11

at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church-Gilman with Father Lourdu

  Donald was born February 29, 1932, the son of Frank and Erna (Wuest) Seidel in Colby.  He graduated from Dorchester High School in 1950.  Don enlisted in the Army National Guard and then enlisted in the U. S. Army.
  On February  26, 1958 he was united in marriage to Birthe "Bea" Pedersen in Copenhagen, Denmark.  She preceded him in death on June 30, 2014.

  Don loved the Green Bay Packers, jigsaw puzzles and woodworking.  Most importantly, he cherished his family.

  Don is lovingly survived by his five children: Anni (Mark) Bunkelman of Milan, Linda (Craig) Hayes of Marshfield, Karen (Jeff) Willingham of Columbus, IN, William (Christine) Seidel of Medford and Kristy Snow of Hixson, TN; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister, Marlene (Robert) Cypher of Menomonee Falls; two sisters-in-law, Lois Seidel of Menomonee Falls and Anni Jeppesen of Denmark.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bea; his daughter, Kay; two brothers, Gordon and Nyle and a sister, Joanne.

  Linda Sue Jari, 60, of Medford, passed away Sunday, August 5, 2018 at the Aspirus Wausau Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

  A Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday August 9, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Medford. Father Phil Juza will officiate. Visitation will be held that morning at Holy Rosary Catholic Church from 9:30 AM until the time of Mass. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service.
  Linda was born April 7, 1958 in Medford, WI to Frank and Florence (Emmerich) Lemke. She is a 1976 Graduate of Medford Sr. High School. On September 17, 1977, Linda married Michael Jari at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Medford. Michael survives.
  She is further survived by her two sons: Daniel and Ben (Nicole) Jari of Medford, Step Granddaughter Lily, Mother Florence Lemke of Medford, Siblings: Tim (Sally) Lemke of Medford, Tom Lemke of Plymouth, MN, John (Ann), Jim Lemke, Sandi (Paul) Lukewich, all of Medford, Donna (Craig) Dahlvig of Hatley, Sisters in Law: Margo (Dave) Zuleger of Medford, Joan (Jon) Kleist of Wausau, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
  She is preceded in death by her Father Frank Lemke, Sister Patty Lemke, Nephew Tim Lemke, Jr., and Mother in Law Marie Jari.
  Linda worked in the Mill Work division for Weather Shield Windows for 42 years. She also helped Mike with accounting and bookwork for the family business, Mike Jari Bulldozing and Excavating.
  She enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with friends, doing yard work, lawn mowing, tending to her flower gardens, feeding and watching birds and decorating her home. Linda will be remembered for her excellent cooking skills. Her hash brown casserole, beans and brownies were always looked for at family gatherings.
  She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, and the Stump Jumpers Snowmobile Club where she served as secretary for many years.

  Linda loved spending time with her family, and was especially proud of her sons.

  Betty Fleming, age 88, of Dorchester, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Marshfield Medical Center.  A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 at Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester.    The Rev. Thomas Myhre will officiate.  Friends and family are welcome 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at Monday at the funeral home in Dorchester.  Interment to follow at the Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

  Betty was born on April 1, 1930, the daughter of John and Margaret (Jackson) Lettner in Gibson City, IL.  On June 6, 1948, she was united in marriage to Elvin Fleming in Bloomington, IL.  He preceded her in death on February 23, 1993.

  Betty moved to CA after marriage and then moved to the Town of Hammel in 1966.   Betty enjoyed sewing and quilting. 

  Betty is survived by her four children: Cheryl Underwood of Dorchester, David (Mary) of Withee, Donald of Palm Bay, FL, and Terry of Medford; two step-sons: Stewart of Aurora, SD and Harvey of Waterloo, IA; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by many friends, nieces, nephews and other family members.

  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a granddaughter: Kristy Underwood; a sister: Margie; and two brothers: Richard and Raymond.

  William "Bill" A. Koncel, age 94, of Dorchester, passed away on August 11, 2018 at the Home Place in Dorchester.

  A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Dorchester.  Pastor Teri Hanson will officiate.  Interment to follow at Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.  Friends and family are welcome from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.

  Bill was born May 24, 1924, the son of Anton and Eleanor (Vlacia) Koncel in Berwyn, IL.  He graduated from Colby High School in 1942. 
  In September of 1946,  Bill was united in marriage to Leila Case in Medford.  She preceded him in death on Feb. 4, 2007.  Together they farmed east of Dorchester for many years.

  Bill loved to ride his Harley motorcycle , and enjoyed pulling with his Allis-Chalmers in antique tractor pulls, where he won many awards.  He also enjoyed fishing, and snowmobiling.

  Bill is survived by his daughter: Mary Ann (Richard) Bunkelman of Colby; a daughter-in-law: Debra Koncel of Dorchester; six grandchildren: Cathy (Lee) Hansen of Two Rivers, Kenneth Koncel of Colby, Amanda Koncel of Medford, Michael Koncel of Dorchester, Kevin (Denise) Bunkelman of Colby, and Alan Bunkelman of Colby and five great-grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Janet Case of Almond; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

  He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Leila; his son, Anthony: and two brothers-in-law: Kenneth (Teresa) and Melvin (Lorraine) Case.

  Melva Jean (Strebig) Keefe, 92, of Medford was born March 5, 1926 in Medford to Gilbert and Viola (Miller) Strebig. She died on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Care Partners under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

  Whether you knew her as Mrs. Keefe, Mom, Aunt Babe, Grandma, Felfa, Mima, my dear, or Melva, you understood she was a special lady. She graduated from Medford High School as valedictorian in 1943 and from UW-Eau Claire in 1946 with a degree in elementary education. Her marriage to Thomas F. Keefe took place in Wausau, WI, on June 12, 1947 and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2008. Together they enjoyed life in the U.S. Navy until they returned to Medford in 1952, where Tom joined Strebig Auto Co. and later co-founded Northland Furniture with Ray Lange. Melva taught elementary education in Wausau in her earlier years and also worked as a bookkeeper for Keefe’s Northland Furniture while raising their family.
  Melva was active in the community as a member of the Medford City Park Outdoor Pool Committee, Medford Curling Club, Tee-Hi Golf Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, Taylor County Homemakers, the Black River Golf Club, several bridge and sheepshead clubs, the Red Hats, and the Birthday Club.
  Survivors include her children - Judith Kuse of Baraboo, Kate Clanton of Marshfield, Susan (Dean) Emmerich of Medford, Patrick (Michelle) Keefe of Apple Valley, MN, and Robert (Laurie) Keefe of Medford, sixteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren.
  Melva wore life well, even into her stay at Care Partners, where her kind and caring personality survived, and her world was largely a happy one for which she was grateful.
  Melva was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, and visitation will be held there from 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018 with the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. James Krueger officiating. Luncheon will be provided by the Ladies of Immanuel immediately following the service. Interment of her cremated remains will take place at Medford Evergreen Cemetery II at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons – Ben & Ted Kuse, Jason Salter, Jake Emmerich, Max Clanton, Tom, John & Connor Keefe.

  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Melva’s name to Huey’s Hideaway Children’s Museum in Medford, WI.
  The family is grateful to all who helped care for Melva at Care Partners, and to Immanuel Lutheran Church Pastors Krueger and Iwinski and the team from Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services who provided support to Melva and her family during the final days of our long good-bye.

  Loretta M. Marzinske, age 93, of Dorchester, passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2018 at Dycora Transitional Living in Abbotsford. 

  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stetsonville.  The Rev. Richard Russow will officiate.  Inurnment to follow at Zion Lutheran Cemetery.  Family and friends are welcome 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church. 

  Loretta was born on May 19, 1925, the daughter of Andrew and Carrie (Lonning) Nelson in Waseca, MN.  She graduated from New Richland High School.  On January 8, 1947, Loretta was united in marriage to Edwin Marzinske, Sr. in Alma City, MN.  He preceded her in death on May 4, 1995.

  Loretta worked at a hospital in Minneapolis, Birdseye Foods in Waseca, the Abbotsford Nursing Home and the hospital in Medford.  She also farmed in Waldorf, MN and the Town of Mayville from 1947-78.

  Loretta was an active member of Zion Lutheran Church and a member of the Ladies' Aid.  She enjoyed playing cards, square dancing and crocheting.  Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

  Loretta is survived by three children:  Shirley (Russ) Buss of Athens, Ed Marzinske, Jr. of Dorchester and Diane Marzinske (John Borgemoen) of Holcombe; 10 grandchildren: Warren Buss, Patricia (Shane) Hammel, Walter (Amie) Marzinske, Alisa Marzinske (Jim Rusnak), Amanda Geiger (Greg Haring), Jessica (Jon) Lindberg, Kristen (John) Tavare, Ashley (Brad) Thielman, Keith (Michelle) Stuttgen and Dakota Marzinske; 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.  She is further survived by her brother, Bert Nelson of Owatonna, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
